Israeli Films
at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival
July 24 - August 11, 2008
The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the world’s first and largest Jewish film festival, takes place in San Francisco and three other Bay Area cities in late July and early August, drawing an audience of approximately 30,000 people.
Enjoy the best of new Israeli features, documentaries and television this summer at the SFJFF, including a special spotlight on Israel’s diverse cultures. Come see a sitcom from the "Arab-Israeli Woody Allen," a doc about gay pride in Jerusalem, a romance about a Palestinian and a kibbutznik who fall in love in Germany and much, much more. Meet the producers and directors, enjoy a special tribute to Israel's most prolific brother-filmmaker team, and catch dozens of films that shed new light on an ever-changing Israel now 60 years young.
Be sure not to miss the IDAN RAICHEL PROJECT in Black Over White, a close-up look at the Israeli-Ethiopian-Yemenite world-beat band’s Ethiopian concert tour, screening at the Castro Theater.
