Agi Mishol
Israeli Pages: A Year of Hebrew Literature

Lectures
February 5-7, 2008

Author of twelve volumes of poetry, Israeli female poet Agi Mishol has won every major Israeli poetry prize, including the first Yehuda Amichai Prize in 2002 and the Dolitsky Prize in 2007. Born in Hungary to Holocaust survivors, Mishol addresses 'the situation' through her poetry.

Agi Mishol's poems know how to tell a tale, to sing a song and also dance—all at one and the same time. I love the splendid surprises in them, the subtle and exact sadness, and the mysterious manner by which she makes this sadness overflow with a hidden joy." — Amos Oz
