Knesiyat HaSekhel (Church of Reason)
A Sderot Tribute Concert
Concert:
October 18, 2008
Knessiyat Ha-Sekhel (Church of Reason) hails from the southern Israeli town of Sderot, a frequent target of missiles from Gaza. Their quixotic name comes from author Robert Pirsig’s iconic book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The band journeys from gypsy and rock music through classical, Jewish and Balkan vibes, blending old and new for a delightfully fresh sound. Their American premiere features an exciting collaboration with a string quartet from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
